Still Life Synthesis is the creative expression of routines, mindful rituals, musings, little activities, decisions, and moments that litter my world, have meaning and significance of who I am and how I relate to others. I have integrated reclaimed textiles, printing, stitch, and dyes onto simple canvas like silhouettes that encapsulate the wearer and encourage them to appreciate, value and care for the unique beauty of textiles old and new and our environment
Old Man Over Coat, Sartorial Shirt, Made to Measure Pants.
Old Man overcoat: Vintage Irish tea towel added trapunto effect, quilted calico. Moth prints in bronze and brown paste represents ancestors past.
Harekeke fronds used to print on front of coat. Flax washed and returned to Pa Harekeke after use.
Reclaimed wool lining and vintage prints.
Kuku shell used to create the muka for both garments.

Muka used as thread through the printed buttons.
Thermal prints of hand drawn tea bags, Kuku-mussel shells used to scrape Harekeke.
Pastel illustration of pet sleeping on newspaper thermal print. Newspaper date of birth of first child, coffee and tea ring marks, using tea and coffee as dye.
Buttons, memories of tins from childhood, centre one is padded adding layer of physical tactility.

Inside of reversible Detritus Dress, used calico toile and test of embroidery machine dyed with waste tea and coffee grinds. Cuffs made from second hand knitting project.
Sartorial shirt back fastening using reclaimed buttons and loops using hand twisted muka.
Thermal prints of moths test prints on calico cut to fray and appliqued onto shirt yoke.
Thermal print of vintage measuring tape on calico attached to back of adjustable wrap around pants.
